Milk allergy or just sick? Don’t know what to trust

My babe has been on gentlease formula for 3 months and she recently has been congested and sneezing and the past week she had diarrhea so I took her to the doctor.. at first the nurse told me to give her pedialyte then she tests her BM and says there is a little blood so she’s changing her formula to similac alimentum which smells awful and my baby hates it lol. However she still had diarrhea last night and this morning and she has a temperature of 99.9 so I am now wondering if the diarrhea is just her body’s way of getting rid of whatever cold or viral thing she has going on because she wasn’t having diarrhea with every feed on the gentlease.. don’t want to keep switching formulas on her especially since she liked the gentlease and hates the similac, my mom gut tells me she is sick and getting rid of her sickness through her bowel movement but what is your opinion?

I’m no expert but sounds like baby is just sick. I get stomach issues when I get the flu. It’s not unheard of. It would be weird for a sudden onset of allergies to the formula you have been using

That’s exactly how I feel but nurse won’t listen to me

baby can be just sick. my baby was constipated before they tested her stool told me it was a milk allergy because it was blood in it and tried to put my baby on hypoallergenic enfamil. my mom instincts didn’t believe that was true put her on enfamil reguline (stool softener) instead and she’s been fine ever since

@Janae so glad I’m not the only one! They said she had little blood in her stool so it’s milk allergy but come on, poor baby has had diarrhea all week I’m sure it’s raw in there so of course, I’m going to wait until she feels better to go back to her regular formula and try it out
