Renal pelvis dilation
Hi looking for some advice/reassurance. I went for a private scan last week and the sonographer noticed some fluid in babies left kidney. It was measuring 6.5mm, I contacted my midwife and they wanted to scan me to check for themselves, it is now measuring 9.4mm which is near the 10mm bracket. I have been referred to fetal medicine unit they can review it and see what they say, they did say that this is more common in boys and can resolve it self but wanted to know if anyone has experienced this?? I’m 28 weeks on Sunday for reference

@Charley I’m nearly 27 weeks. We only found out about 2 weeks ago at a private scan, I had an NHS scan yesterday and it measured pretty much the same as it did 2 weeks ago. I’ve got another scan at 32 weeks to check again and if it’s worse we can make a plan for treatment after birth. I was really worried but they really reassured me yesterday and said it’s very common x

Hello I had the same thing happen. Nobody seems concerned they just say absolute worst case will be a course of antibiotics when he’s born and it’s very common in boys x
