Baby head is measuring large and Im freaking out

I am 35 weeks pregnant, due end of November. Yesterday I went for my growth scan and the consultant has told me my baby’s head is measuring larger than what they expect in the normal range. She referred me to fetal medicine unit for more tests. I am very worried about this as this could be something serious or maybe just a large headed baby. My husband’s side of the family do have chunkier heads but still concerned. I have had a very stressful pregnancy with lots of stress and trauma due to family situations. So I am feeling guilty if my stress has caused this.

My baby had a 99th centile head. He’s now nearly a year and he just had a big head/ skull nothing more to it! 😊

My babies head was off the chart at one point, he was born completely normal, try not to stress, the measurements are not accurate at all xx

Whether it's something or not, your stress did not cause this! Please don't feel guilty about it!!!

I had odd measurements at my 32 week scan. Both head and abdomin were measuring on the 97th centile and legs 7th centile 😬 Like you I started to worry about it imagining the worst but then remembering that had growth scans been offered when I had my middle child he probably would've measured the same as he was short and fat with a large head lol. At the end of the day no amount of worrying is going to change anything. It will be what it will be
