Yep! Been doing it for years. It's a great method if you have shoulder length or longer hair. If your hair is shorter then you will have to do something more like a butterfly cut where you break up the ponytails. As mentioned before Brad Mondo has some great tutorials for beginners in this. The only must is a good pair of hair scissors...they make all the difference! Good luck!
