Midwife Appointment

I’ve just been contacted for my first appointment with the midwife, and I will be 10 weeks by then, I booked a private scan for week 7, but am I overthinking things that 10 weeks is quite late before I speak to a midwife?

It’s about right 8-12 weeks is the norm however some tests need to be done before 10 weeks so if you wanted those done I would call up to ask ☺️ here’s a list of the dates for appointments from the nhs website ☺️ https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

That is really helpful thank you, although interesting to see my area doesn’t have an initial appointment with the doctor

@Christina yer mine doesn’t either unless you have had multiple loss, I remember I was really surprised how little they actually see you in pregnancy! And now it’s my second it cuts out another 2/3 of the appointments with the midwife 😬

@Megan that is crazy! I can’t imagine being offered even less medical support!

@Christina I will be high risk though after my emergency c section last time so i will see if maybe they just keep them in place? I am not sure yet 😬

I am booked in for my midwife appointment at 10 weeks then I have a private scan booked at 7 weeks 5 days for peace of mind I am struggling waiting to be honest xx

Me two! It’s so hard just the waiting and unknown
