Calpol and immunisations

My LO has 8 week immunisations a week on Monday I’ve been told to give calpol before and after the injections. But my baby was born at 36+4 and the pack says not for babies born before 37 weeks obviously he is 3 days short of this so can I use it? Anyone else had this? I will see the health visitor next week but thought I’d see if anyone had any advice on this.

My baby was born 31+6 and was very tiny so when we had 8 week immunisation the nurses at the GP consulted with the doctor directly on the spot to find out how much he could get (the first time he didn't get any before the vaccination). You can also try to call the pharmacy and ask them for advice.

Sometimes it can also depend on weight etc, ask your health visitor and they’ll advise you if they weigh enough then you should be fine! X

My son was also born at 36+4 and we were always told okay to give him call before his immunisations x

It goes by weight for medications usually, so when things say they're not for kids under 12 it's because of the average weight of a 12 year old/ 1 year old or 6 month old or whatever they are. So best to check for your little one x

Thanks everyone this is super helpful I’ll check with the HV but sounds like he’ll be fine to have it 😊
