Diarrhea

Hi mums, when do you go to Dr about diarrhea in babies? (Under 3 months old) After how many days or how many soiled diapers? My little girl is on day 4 of diarrhea at every feed and inbetween. Roughly 6 diarrheas a day but she’s eating as normal (120ml every 3h) I took her in to Dr last month for same thing but they said at the time it was normal as she was a newborn and advised I just keep feeding her on demand to keep her fluids up.

Is she fine in herself? No temperature and still behaving normally? Do you give her any solid/pureed foods ( some people start weaning early so just checking - diff/new foods always cause a reaction )? Also is the poop normal coloured? I’ve never taken mine to the doctor for diarrhoea unless she was drinking less than normal or had a temperature because they always just say it’s part of babies and teething and etc. there can be many causes so unless they suspect an infection they never really do anything about it xxx

If ur in the uk and concerned sometimes I would wait till the GP practice closes and phone 111 😂 just to get a second opinion, you don’t need to go down to the hospital but just ask for advice and the on call GP can give you advice

@Krupha Yes she’s smiling, staring around at her bright toys, shouting/tiny giggles as usual. She’s demanding feeds much sooner than normally. She’d normally feed every 3h but at the moment she feeds every 1/2h but I just give in because I want to keep her fluid intake. She’s exclusively on formula (Aptamil Advanced 1) nothing else. Poop is yellow (yes her usual colour) but seedy. No temperature Overall she seems completely fine to me, I’m just panicking whether she’s dehydrated, although no signs. Also I’m worried if she could be exhibiting symptoms of allergy? But she’s been on the same formula since she was born and has been gaining weight graciously x

Could a milk allergy if she’s having it after milk and in between of milk x

Is it really diarrhoea or just more liquidy than normal? Yellow and seedy still sounds fine. When my boy poops diarrhoea it looks like yellow water, no seeds or chunks in that at all, just looks like yellow water. More pungent/sour than usual as well. It wouldn’t be a milk allergy as you said she’s had that formula from birth, and usually allergy poops look mucousy/snotty, stringy- like. As for the milk increase- there’s a growth spurt at 3m and 6m so that’s what it sounds like, she’s having a growth spurt and is cluster feeding (yes FF babies cluster feed too because the growth spurt is biological and has nothing to do w how they’re fed, it’s to do w their age)
