Donna car seat/stroller

Just out of curiosity, how recommended is the doona car seat/stroller? It looks so much more convenient as a single mum but I’m not entirely convinced on it!

I love it but the no storage thing is annoying I mostly use it for a travel buggy and if I’m just popping out quickly.I have another travel system

They aren’t overly advised as a newborn till 8 weeks shouldn’t be in a car seat longer than 30 minutes. Then it’s two hours I believe until a year old

It’s also really heavy

Absolutely love mine. I use it when we are just popping to the shop/soft play/baby groups / appointments and love how quick it clicks into the car seat base and in and out of car without taking baby in and out of anything. I've used it from 2 months old till now at nearly 9 months and still think I've got another month or so left out of it. I also have another running type buggy for long walks / off reading because the doona isn't suitable for anything other than pavement / shop floors

I have one and absolutely love it. We use it as an everyday car seat / stroller but not as her full time pram. It’s so convenient and it’s the best thing I’ve bought second time around. There are always pros and cons and it’s what suits you and your busy life. It’s so handy on the school run. We have a car seat for long journeys as we travel up north frequently but for everyday running around, I highly recommend. @Natasha my friend still uses hers and her baby is over 18 months now x

I’ve used one all this time for convenience and I feel extremely guilty but it is also a lifesaver. I can understand for those that don’t drive they prefer them. But I do feel after having one since she was born I could have done better and got a proper car seat. Places like bijou babies online do all the ERF best rated safest car seats I’ve only just learnt about rather than the more popular branded ‘fashion brand’ ones. So now I’m finally being sensible and investing in a decent car seat (one that spins round for putting them in and reclines while travelling. They’re also just must safer in an accident and more comfortable for LO. So if you have a car don’t skip out and get a Doona. Yes they’re easy and quick but when I look back, this is our babies prime years for creating positive posture, back health etc and Doona’s don’t give that. They’re not overly supportive or comfortable when you feel what they’re sitting in compared to proper car seats.

I even upgraded ours to the Doona x that’s ’reclines’ only when not on the car and she hated that setting. I wouldn’t personally recommend them if I’m honest. I feel I did my daughter a disservice having her in one all this time. I should have done better 👍 but I’m a FTM was on a budget and didn’t know better
