How many hours between baby feeding?

My baby is 1 week old and is back to birth weight. She’s been nursing every 3 sometimes 4 hours and I’m nervous that’s too far apart? Everything I read says 2! She’s is happy and sleeping great.

Feed on demand if baby demands the breast every 3 hrs then that’s what it is. Your supply will be based on the demand. Cluster feeding will come up soon that might change very soon

If baby is back to birth weight, feeding on demand is perfect. I've never seen anything that says she should be feeding every 2 hours. That seems an awful short time.

Every 2-3 hrs is recommended for the first few weeks. Baby might not be waking up for feeds yet. I think I stopped waking my girl at 3 weeks and just let her feed on demand. She’s now 9 weeks and in the 89th percentile. Also, there were several times where she went past three hours and was totally fine. She sleeps through the night now and goes 7-9 hours without a feed

@Kirsten she had surpassed birth weight by 3 oz at her check up at 5 days old! Haha now she’s 9 days old and usually wakes on her own to eat, but it’s typically like 4 hours between. I also have pretty fast milk so she nurses about 10 minutes usually and then is done. I typically collect 2.5-3 oz of let down on the other side during that 10 minutes

Sounds like bub is doing well. I too had a lot of letdown. Was wild.
