Thompson Method

Hi ladies. Just wanting to know if anyone has read up / following the Thompson Method for breastfeeding? I'm 27 + 2 weeks and just trying to get my head around how I'd like to feed. I really like the Thompson method course and would really recommend it to other mummas but it'll be nice to hear if anyone else is following this Method! đź’•

I watched a YouTube clip of it and much preferred it and I get on much better with it than other methods I’ve been shown by midwife’s and health visitors, had issues with latching initially because of tongue tie but with the Thompson method BG going well at 15 weeks

I followed the Thomson method with my first son but made some adjustments that worked best for me! I incorporated pumping as well into my routine, Thompson method doesn’t include pumping but the latching aspect and the pre-birth aspect is awesome!

Oh I did that without knowing that’s what it was. My son was a preemie born at 28 weeks and I requested he try breastfeeding before introducing a bottle. We made it as calm as we could put up curtains and it was just me and him and the pt/ot person but they instructed me to pinch my boob Into like a hamburger shape and force it at him he did okay. But He latched great when they left us alone and they were super surprised he didn’t need help cause he was still so small and it went great. My daughter we did the same as soon as we could after the c section she stayed on my chest and she latched herself. With her it was just me and my husband and her and cause I nursed my son I felt more confident to request less intervention . She still latches herself and unlatches on her own. My son I would have to break his latch sometimes cause he would fall asleep but not really nursing. It makes such a difference

I followed it and it helped us. I got the course while I was pregnant and there’s a lot of interesting information in it not just around feeding. Depends if it’s your first baby or not but as a FTM it definitely made me feel more prepared
