Breastfeeding struggles

Really struggling now with breastfeeding, not had an easy ride at all and coming up to 7 weeks of continuous pain. On medication for nipple Raynauds (never knew it was a thing) but the whiteness & throbbing is really taking its toll as well as nipples coming out lipstick shape, have been checked for tongue tie and all fine. Toying between giving up completely due to having to express every 3 hours as nipples so sore or whether to introduce combi feeding and having a bit more of a life for myself or going to 100% formula. Have only kept going on this journey as breastfeeding my first was a doddle compared to my second. Just a bit of advice please ☹️

I feel for you, in similar position. It is starting to get easier for me at 8w (I think) after multiple goes of mastitis and basically spending so much time managing my boobs is a full time job. She won't take the bottle either. I would 100% go to combi feeding if I could. And it may get easier for you x

Have you tried nipple shields? These have helped my BF journey so much

My nipple were hurting a lot too when my second baby was born …my nipple were very close from bleeding … so I only have one boob to my baby the left and the right only pumping to give it a break from baby … I put a lot of nipple cream on both after every feed … and that helped a lot and now my baby is 9 weeks and everything is fine now :)

@Amber with nipple shield it’s not the same ..and its hard for baby to suction…

@Amber I have but just really struggle with them, find his latch completely changes and he ends up sucking like he would a bottle

@Blanca they get recommended for short term and my baby didn’t struggle so I guess everyone is different 😊
