Irritated

My son’s nursery keeps “misplacing “ his belongings. Since moving into a older room he’s lost A bottle , 4 bibs had his shoes misplaced twice his clothing sent home with another child and now his coat is missing and they can’t find it Am I right in being annoyed about this or am I being unreasonable?

Is everything labelled? Bits often go missing but usually turn up within a day or two with my girls nursery. If it’s becoming an issue I’d just have the conversation with them - you’re concerned about stuff going missing more frequently now and how can you work together to resolve the issue. Can they have named pegs for coats/bags etc. It is annoying but I do kind of expect a certain level of things disappearing

@Chloe it’s labeled in two places. The nursery are denying that they have misplaced it and it’s been almost two weeks since the coats gone missing

To put it into perspective my nursery haven’t lost anything for good but did misplace a dummy couple of times but it was in his bag they just didn’t tell each other, and an outfit went walkies but that turned up. That’s over 11 months. Mine are all labelled and he has a named peg, I would say if your loss is recent that’s a lot

That’s no good… do the nursery give the coats out to the parents or is it a situation where another parent could have picked it up? At ours the parents get the coats and bags from outside of the room. If they’re not supporting you that’s really difficult, I’d maybe ask for a meeting with the manager?

Yes I would be annoyed at this - costs are expensive. Sounds like another parent has taken the cost home!! Was it a nice one? Nothing has ever gone missing at mine and it’s been 12mths

We've never had anything go missing other than a sock and dummy. He has a labeled peg for his bag and coat. He doesnt take his own bottle/bibs though. It is a small nursery and they all know what stuff belongs to who. I wouldn't be happy with the coat in particular as why would another parent take home a coat that blatantly isn't theirs?

@Francesca £25 Disney one. Not to fussed about the bibs they don’t cost as much. The coat is another story though.

Update. The jacket has mysteriously shown up after I said I would get the management involved. After 4 weeks of no sign of it , the jackets showed up a day after I mentioned management underneath a box in the room

It’s possible they just looked harder instead of like taken
