Night Feed Routine

I've been looking on Tik Tok on how different people do night feeds and how they set up their bedroom space. I plan to breastfeed & pump so my partner can night feed but I've seen a lot of people who seem to have quite complex routines. My thought process is ... surely I can pump my breastmilk in to bottles, keep them in the fridge and warm up the bottles using a bottle warmer (I've been looking at getting the Mom Cozy one) which keeps the night feeds quite simple right? Also planning to have a mini fridge in bedroom. Any advice would be appreciated x

You don’t have to warm up bottles unless baby won’t drink them otherwise. But when a baby is crying to be fed even just a few minutes of prep can feel like a long time! I’m not saying it’s not doable but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s simple either.

So I bought a mini fridge for the bedroom to keep expressed milk in and the plan was for my husband to feed baby one feed ish at night. Long story short - it never happened. I ended up breastfeeding and any expressed milk was offered during the day if I wanted a break or was not home. Our mini fridge sits in baby’s room empty and unused. It was more stress having to both be up because I’d wake if baby woke anyway if that makes sense.

You don’t need to heat the milk up, it can be given straight out of the fridge. You’ll be able to skip one feed for your partner to give at night but any more than that and it could affect your supply and to be honest you’ll probably be quite uncomfortable and want to feed/express. For the first 2/3 weeks you’ll need to feed or express 10-12 time per 24 hours and not go more that 3 hours between feeds/expressing to establish your supply, so in those very early weeks your partner can feed, but you’ll probably be pumping along side them. After that, it does get a bit easier, but you still won’t want to skip two in a row for your own comfort. Also you produce most milk around 2/3am so if you’re trying to build a freezer stash, you want to pump at night x
