Best car seats?

My LG has just turned 8 months old and is definitely due a car seat upgrade, we have been using the car seat we got with the travel system since she was born ( only found out recently these aren’t safe 😩) but I don’t know the first thing about car seats and which are better or worse and also affordable! We don’t drive so I’d prefer a car seat that’s easy to take in and out of relatives cars and taxis and one that can be permanent when we do eventually get a car, I like the idea of the 360 ones too, not asking for much I know😅🤣. I hope someone can point me in the right direction, thanks so much🩷

Do you mind me what travel system you got ? We purchased one and we had to quickly change it due to layrngomalacia diagnosis but after some re - search the original travel system we planned to use wasn’t really a safe system(kinderkraft) . We have the nuna car seat , it’s quiet pricey though and if you’re looking for ones that you can take around with you the one we have probably isn’t the best, the 360 ones are isofix, so again, you’ll have to transport the base around with you which is quite heavy in my opinion! After some re- search into nuna they are quite a good brand and own many others, you may be able to find one that doesn’t require isofix or one you can use without too. Alternatively I did some re search into maxi cosi which are also a good brand xx

Travel system car seats are until 13kg and next size up will not be compatible with pram that makes it difficul as you taking pushchare and a seat . 360 with izofix usually waights about 25kg that's pretty heavy I think you should research the ligtest options in there until you get your car also look for the ones without izofix as this the heaviest part...

Axkid, BeSafe, Avionaut and Britax are top tier I think in terms of safety, comfort and durability

@Amy we got a Ickle bubba travel system, it did us well but then found out it actually was not a Swedish tested brand or something? But as a FTM I was just reading the reviews on websites and didn’t think that there was certain car seats and systems that were safer than others lol, I’ll look into that Thankyou so much xx

@Terri I think I’m actually in this group! Thankyou so much x

@Krystie Thankyou so much! A friend of mine says britax is amazing too! X

@Agne Thankyou so much🩷 I’ll look into this xx

@Jade me too! I just thought , they wouldn’t sell anything unsafe but actually becoming a mum I’ve realised it’s all about ££ and passing basic standards doesn’t mean it’s safe! Xx

@Amy yeah exactly! It really is crazy and we have to pay into the thousands for safety is so bizarre to me 😩 x
