Endometriosis Sucks!

Hey guys, I’m in the middle of my first PP Endo episode and I need help! I’m still bf, so I’m only allowed a couple medications. I’ve taken everything I can and done everything I’ve ever done to help but I still ended up in a ball on the floor.. What do you do for your pain? Medications, techniques, devices, etc. I’ve had it for years but it’s so different PP…

Hey have you tried a TENS machine? I used to use one and it helped a lot! Hope you can find something that helps! I'm honestly dreading this... I'm 9 months PP and haven't had a period yet and honestly it's one of my motivations to continue BF too! 🙈

How long pp are you just curious? I'm sorry the breastfeeding isn't keeping it at bay for you. I had a mirena iud put in at 8 weeks pp and although the initial bleed was as painful as the c section recovery, and I get entirely unpredictable random bleeds, every one of them has been better than the last and they're usually light. Sometimes 1/2 days sometimes 2 weeks sometimes 1 month with no bleeding sometimes only 2 weeks but I haven't had a bleed in what feels about 3 months now. Thank god. So I really recommend that and it's totally safe for breastfeeding. It just takes ages to stop your cycle but I think it combines with bf well. Low doses of codeine is also safe for bf. You can have 30mg of dihydrocodeine twice a day but I find codydramol, which only has 10mg codeine, 2 tablets at a time is enough for me just for the night to sleep. During the day baby distracts from pain. In one bad bleed I had 3 months pp I think I used a wrap around hot water bottle. Would be too dangerous now with my active toddler.

I loved tens pre baby but I have no time to fiddle with the cables at the moment. I prioritise doing some physio/yoga before bed every night to release my thighs hips and lower back. Baby lay next to me then he crawled onto me now he either climbs on or I use him as a weight (he's walking) or he just plays alone for 2 mins at a time. Meditation is great for improving pain tolerance

I used to do aromatherapy pre baby and loved peppermint to improve pain tolerance and lavender for relaxation which in turn improves pain tolerance but I read you can't do too many smells with ebf. I hope it's fine soon now he's 12 mo though. So sorry you're in a ball on the floor! Hot bath and look at funny memes (fb group endoMEMEtriosis is great). In general endometriosis diet really helps. Rest when flaring and get fresh air and daily exercise when you're not. When I started a job that involved walking 10k steps a day I found my pain reduced quite dramatically

@Alex She’s 21 weeks on Sunday! I’d love to chat if you’re up for it!
