Stocking up medicine cabinet for starting nursery

Lo had settling in session at nursery today and seemed to be a lot of colds etc doing the rounds. Thinking in for a rough couple months what did you all find useful to have in to help lo through the inevitable bugs!

We’re 6 weeks in and we’ve had multiple colds, a sickness bug and now suffering with one year jabs! We find the calpol plug in and a humidifier helpful for colds. Also Asdas own brand baby vapour bath! We swear by it! No advise for the sickness bug, it was pure hell and we all caught it 🙃

Calpol, Nurofen, Calpol plug in, Olbas oil, anbesol, Metanium.

@Caroline what's metanium for ? And anbesol for teething?

Same as what’s already been shared as well as Snuffle baby vapour rub x

@Anna Konieczny yep anbesol for teething although I've found it a decent distraction for if they get hand foot and mouth sores in their mouths. Metanium is the most effective nappy rash cream in my opinion. Neither of my kids had any until nursery but they can't always be changed immediately like you would at home so it happens sometimes.

Can I ask what age your child is staring nursery ?

My girl started 5 weeks ago and has had an endless snotty nose and hand foot and mouth.. yesterday she was so so congested causing her to be sick all day. I went shop and got calpol, ibuprofen (to alternate) and nose spray (which really helped) also cough medicine but I dropped the full bottle on my door step 😭 this has taught me to make sure I'm already stocked up om these things for future

Sterimar to decongest the baby nose and don't forget to buy stuff for when *you* catch all the viruses too

😂 @Alejandra good point!
