Super emotional

Hey guys! My names Madie and I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and a sahm. We only have 1 car so I can never leave the house since my fiance works basically 12 hours a day. I’ve been having such a hard time coping with my new life never leaving the house. It’s lead me to be super emotional and depressed. I was wondering if anyone has or is experiencing the same thing.

I totally get you. I was a sahm for years with my 3 kids and couldn't do it anymore. Do you have a friend or family member who'd be willing to pick you up to get you out of the house? Being a sahm is not easy in any way.

@Michaela my family lives about an hour away but we have been talking about me and our daughter stay with my family for 3 days a week then I come home for the rest of the week with my fiancé.

@Madeline that sounds like a pretty good idea! what about on his days off, are you able to leave your daughter with her dad and take some time to yourself?

Also a sahm mom who’s husband takes the car and he has long work days. It was a hard adjustment but you have to keep yourself busy and scheduled. What helped me is getting a big white board and writing down multiple things to do everyday with my lo (whether that’s an arts and craft project, a house task, a learning activity with them). It’s all about planning ahead of time what you’re gunna do with them. Research stuff. If you live in an area that has anything walking distance, go. Even if it’s hard; oh even if there’s nothing and it’s just a walk. Keep the stroller home. A park, a sandbox, a library (libraries have free classes for toddlers) Is there a bus near you? Take that somewhere. If not, just sit outside in your yard. It makes a difference. Try and make connections with other moms in your town (that part I know it’s not easy 😅 but try).
