Baby Brain 🧠

In September, My husband took me to the specialist Genetic fetus results in OB for my baby. It was my former OB reference it. So we went and they did an ultrasound to check my baby boy size, measure and scan baby brain 🧠. I thought it was neat to able see all that until the physician explained the concern about my baby brain. She say that my baby brain ventricles were a bit large than should be at 28 weeks pregnant. (I am currently 32 weeks pregnant. ). She say that the 28 week baby brain ventricles supposed to be 1 cm and my baby boy ventricles were 1.1 cm. She made thing sound big deal that there are the possibility 1. It's could been normal 2. Some issue genetics 3. Baby have some type of blockage fluid in the brain. She made me felt scared for my baby life. She went on and on how dangerous can be for a baby life after born. My husband and i were scared for our sweet baby. They want do more test on my baby just to be sure baby going be okay. There is a part of me felt she wasn't even a real doctor for baby because she couldn't answer my questions at all. I spoke to my OB. She doesn't seem too worry about it because i did told her that big head runs in my family tree and i also been took strong DHA vitamin for the baby since day one. She say it was probably nothing and yet at same time she want me just to check to confirm it. Does anyone go through alike this?

I’m sorry you’re going through this Cassandra. It can be very scary to know something could be going on with your baby’s brain. If you are not comfortable with the specialist or you don’t fully trust him/her it’s okay to ask for a different doctor. That is your right

I am sorry to hear this! I really hope is nothing as big as she made it sound.. I would definitely get a second opinion.

If it was the ultrasound tech that said these things, they aren’t supposed to say anything because they aren’t medically trained doctors. If your OB says not to worry about it, don’t worry about it. You’re adding stress to your body for you and the baby.

@Sabrina I wasn’t stress or anxiety until those girl staff told me. I didn’t like it. I’m getting 2nd opinion with a different OB. Hopefully everything went well tho b
