No judgment: I never used the base of the car seat. I just grab the car seat and strap it in as normal. I already have the baby buckled in the car seat that way its easier to only have to deal with buckling one thing
I drive for Uber and I always require a car seat for kids/ babies if by chance we were involved in an accident and the baby was hurt I wouldn't be able to live w myself! Now I do know some of the riders say that other drivers don't require a safety seat. I am not to worried about the base though as long as the seat is strapped in

I used an Uber with my baby before. Drivers will take you but you do need a proper car seat as it's the law in Texas to have infants in a car seat. I use the base as well as I have no idea how to safely use the car seat without base. But if your car seat has a safe way to be installed without base this is finr as well. Just follow regulations and make sure your baby is safe.
Car seats are mandatory by law. The driver can cancel or let you install the seat.
Thank you all for the responses. You were all so helpful. I have the Evenflo dual car seat/stroller, just fyi. Can someone please help me know how to strap the car seat to the safety belt? Any pictures or steps will be helpful. Thanks again!
The doona is great for this because you can strap it in safely without the base and is a stroller all in one so you're not lugging a million things around
I can’t afford the doona lol but looks convenient! I’m just gonna get another stroller that my Graco car seat clicks into
Do drivers ever provide carseats or boosters?
@Jiani Holloway I always thought that would be a good idea for Uber or lyft to provide drivers with one or have an option to request a driver with one. You just never know someone could be down on their luck one day. Well an idea they can work with
@Carley i agree! I also think they should have an option to choose pet friendly vehicles. (If they don't do that already)
We just recently went to San Antonio and didn’t have any trouble with Uber and the care seat. We have a doona so all we did was strap it in with the seat belt and we were good to go! The drivers didn’t seem to mind at all. I do know that there’s an option on Uber to request rides that provide a car seat. Not totally sure how that works though. Hope this helps!
