measuring baby bump

Can someone please tell me how accurate these growth charts are from measuring bump, i have never had a growth scan but baby is measuring on 90th percentile i’m pretty sure which to me is a big baby, but how accurate can a bump measurement be?

Try not to stress too much, honestly my baby is on the 97th and my first was on the 95th. Just may mean you carrying a bigger baby. My first was 9lbs 10oz and my second is looking a bit bigger. Are you due to have another scan soon? They can also reassure you and ask more questions.

i haven’t had any scans this is just off the measurement of my bump not from going to scans but i don’t know how they can know the weight of your baby going off a measurement of the bump 🤣xx

Bump measurements are notoriously inaccurate. Even the same midwife measuring twice can get different measurements in blind studies

I don’t think they are that accurate. My midwife measured and put baby on the 90th percentile, I had a planned growth scan the following week and baby was around the 30th percentile.

ahhh okay , how big was your baby when they were born ? xx

All my bump measurements were above the 97th percentile but I had to have a scan as I went in for reduced movements and turns out she’s actually on the 50th percentile so they were way off x

Totally not accurate! My first my bump was off the charts too big and was born 7lb 2 🤣 it could be position of baby, extra fluid or just you have a bigger bump than average! You’d need an actual scan to more accurately know weight

Oh my god my bump measurements have been all over the bloody place. Some not plotted as they'll measure everytime I'm seen anywhere and had a few visits to triage. I've had 2 growth scans and a consultant appointment because bump had apparently not grown and was small. Baby is above average and DEFINITELY growing 😂. Even consultant was like "I don't know why you're here"

Not had baby yet x
