I spoke with a family member who’s just given birth and her top 10 items are: - Perineal wash bottle - Disposable underwear -Maternity pads / pant - she wore the pants for the first 4/5 days then moved on to pads -Ice pack & heating pad -Not rushing into getting into normal clothes -Dark towel -My expert midwife nipple cream - Epsom Salt - Breast Pads - freezer full of pre made meals

No recommendations (although i’m interested too in the comments!) but what a lovely idea! I might do this for myself too - and include luxury items like chocolate 🤣

I second the cooling pads not from personal experience but my friend has told me that she bought the Frida brand cooling pads and they were a life saver for down below after birth so I’ll definitely be purchasing them

I personally found the Frida Disposable Pants and lil-lets maternity pads amazing for in the hospital and the first couple of weeks, then whipped out the big pants 😂. Also breast pads and loose comfy clothing. I also purchased the no harm nipple balm and spritz for bits but didn’t end up needing to use those so I can’t give a review! If you’re breastfeeding then it’s good to stock up on sweet treats such as flapjacks, isotonic drinks, as well as savoury food. I alternated between having a sweet food or savoury food for each feeding to help maintain supply. Other than that I didn’t really need much else xx

I got a donut to sit on after and I used it quite a bit! (after a natural birth and some stitches, it was really helpful). The peri bottle with like aleo vera or like spritz for bits in with the water as that really helps the recovery too. Lots of breast pads! Big underwear and lots of maternity pads. The hot and cold thing made my lanoish is great if you plan to breastfeed too x

Spritz for bits is a must and great for chicken pox when that arises. It’s good for your vagina and stomach if you have a c section. Then the biggest pads and disposable pants you can buy for the first week or so. Snacks- brownies freeze really well and if bitesize can be eaten from frozen. Sweets Peri Wash bottle A fan because you sweat a hideous amount in the first two nights. It’s seriously gross. A bottle with a straw action An eye mask to help sleep in hospital lit rooms Magazines or iPad. Slippers

Nipple balm makes a good lip balm on the winter so don’t throw it if you don’t use it
