Good morning mama’s 🦋 so hypothetically speaking:

You are going grocery shopping & on a $100 budget for the week. What food items would you get? Where would you shop? 🛒 All comments will be very appreciated! 🥹

I mainly invest in meats and starches. So that I always have something i can defrost and cook. I'll also have easy freezer items to eat for my older kids, I always wait for sales and use coupons. I go to food bazaar because it's the better grocery store near me and they have more options than the other two stores that are closer

All the supermarkets are super expensive honestly but if you have a stop and shop nearby they great with sales! I agree on the meats that you can freeze though i have season meats in my fridge for about two weeks and carbs starches

Aldi has the best prices for anything honestly. (They restock everything usually on Wednesday). Also Trader Joe’s is a great place to shop for cheap items as well. For Aldi I can get at least 15 items under 100 dollars.

Even if you are farther away from Aldi or Trader Joe’s, it’s a good commute to take if you want to save money! Cause I’m saying Aldi is great for this stuff. I also use Instacart, so I can get it delivered to me. And everything is still very cheap.

I would go to a neighborhood that’s not gentrified … like little to no white people, Not that many new apartment buildings being built. And look for a key foods and vegetable stand. I would get rice and beans and meat from key food, because it would be cheap. By my daughter’s daycare I can get like a 8piece chicken thighs pack for $5. I would try to get all the staples there and the call my fruits and veggies at the vegetable stand nearby. Target has the cheapest eggs in the city. But if I had extra, I would save about $26, go on Afterpay app, and open up target and do a pick up order. That way I could order up to $100 of food and other things and only have to pay $25/26 dollars that day. And the $75 that’s left over the course of the next 4 weeks. In $25 increments

@Avery is this insta cart?

Target also is one of the few places left that still sells pasta noodles for $1.

@Noelle yes that’s insta cart ! Sorry for delayed response
