Milk Intolerance

We have just moved and my 5mo is running out of aptamil pepti 1 and I tried signing up with the doctors today and it takes up to 10 days we’re almost out of her milk and her old doctors said we needed to get another tub from the new docs but we can’t as we’re waiting to be signed up. After days of faffing around going back and forth she now only has enough left for today I tried to ask for advice and they said they can’t give any on what we could give her instead until we can get the milk in. What do I do😭

You don't need prescription for hydrolysed formula if you are ok to pay for it. Just buy a can, any large pharmacy would stock some.

you can’t just give her formula with milk in as when introducing it again you have to follow the milk ladder which is a tiny bit at a time and building it up. call 111 or go to your local hospital and they will be able to prescribe you some for the time being

To be clear. Pepti 1 Aptamil Pepti 1 is a whey-based extensively hydrolysed formula with galacto- and fructo oligosaccharides (GOS/FOS) for the dietary management of cow's milk allergy. You don't need a prescription for it, you can just buy it in most pharmacies. Prescription gives you an option to get it for free, nothing more.

@Olga 111 was no help and I have no hospital near me and I don’t drive I’m in middle of nowhere atm. It’s so bloody annoying. Pharmacy reccomended HIPP organic as it has whey- based stuff in it and is closest match. I’m so angry as I feel like with these doctors we get messed about so much. I’ve sent an email higher up hopefully will get somewhere. I can’t wait to move hopefully doctors will be so much better down there.

you need to keep on at 111
