Feeling overwhelmed

Today my 7 week old son gave me a run for my money he cat nap all day and was super fussy and clingy and crying for everything. I don’t know how to calm him down and I’m starting to get frustrated how do stop feeling this way as I know he is just a newborn and he doesn’t even know what’s going on. I just laid him in his bed and stood in the corner to gather my thoughts.

Jus remember he’s a newborn u jus have to be patient with them I have a 3 week old boy that basically does the same thing sometimes

OMG i had the same exact day with my 1 month old. I even tried CIO. Did not work. I am defeated and exhausted but savoring those moments where he smiles in his sleep while clinging onto me. And remembering that it will pass. They are so little and go through so many shifts in their ability to cope sometimes.

You did exactly what you should have done for yourself at that time. They will be ok for 5 minutes if you need to step away and take a break! We all need a breather.. reach out if you have friends/family or a partner for help. You are definitely not alone in those feelings.

They are just newborns, sometimes I think they don't even know y they are crying. If it gets to be too much, do like you did, put them somewhere safe and walk away for a minute, gather yourself, and then go back to them

Good for you mama, never feel ashamed for doing what you need for YOU (and baby of course) They need us but we need to be okay to be there for them (as you know). My 7 week old has been doing the same and making me feel the same like ‘ok I need a second’ while losing my mind, exhausted and don’t know what else to do. I found out my babygirl has thrush which has caused the fussiness so maybe a check up wouldn’t hurt but even if no answers then continue to take the time you need, of course we care about our babies and want to do everything we can to make them comfortable, it’s not neglect to give yourself some time and get back to cuddling and caring. You got this!

@Neisha my 7week old has been super fussy as well and been weird with the bottle, she keeps spitting it out and also gagging/coughing is this signs of thrush? Should I make an appointment?

@Neisha thank you

@Bobbi thank you

@Erin thank you

@Aina🇵🇸🍉 yes it’s been a lot lately and he will be 2 months in a week and I hope he changes.

I do the same thing, when she fed, changed and she’s still fussy I put her down and let cry it out for about 5 minutes and then I hold her and she calms down
