Cluster feeding, first night at home

Baby boy joined us last night around 1am. I hadn't got more than 2 hours sleep.over 48hrs because of the birth and now I'm home, my newborn won't let me put him down, he has had 4feeds back to back and I'm exhausted. Help!

Sorry you're having it rough, unfortunately this is how it is with breastfeeding, but know it is temporary 1-3 nights tops. Try and sleep when the baby sleeps during the day to catch up on your rest

Just here to say hi I’m in the trenches too! Baby born on the 15th. 36 hr labour so already sleep deprived and now we’re cluster feeding - today has been every hour for around 30 minutes. He won’t sleep at night unless held but fine during the day for some reason 🤷‍♀️ It has to get better ❤️

It does get easier, nap with them during the day when you can. When your milk comes in he will settle x

https://alifeinlabor.com/i-thought-that-co-sleeping-wasnt-for-me/ From labour&delivery nurse. The most natural way for babies to be sleeping especially straight after birth and best way for mamas to have goodISH sleep 🫶🏽 Give it a read and see how you feel.

I was also feeling this last week, sleep deprived from labour and the first night in hospital alone with little man. Milk came in, boobs were sore and was up every hour through the night feeding. This was around day 3. However the last 3 nights he has been going 2 hours between feeds, which makes a big difference in the amount of rest you can get!! I know it's hard, but the cluster feeding doesn't last forever, good luck xx
