Sore nipples
Does anyone else have incredible sore nipples? They are very dry and have a rash around the edge of the areola. The areola itself is no longer round it just looks so sore on the edges. They are very itchy! I EBF and pump twice a day. Wondering if it’s the pump, or something else that is causing it. I don’t find breastfeeding painful and actually get some relief when baby is feeding. I have already have thrush treatment and don’t think it’s that. Wondering if putting some breast milk on it might help. Is anyone else in the same boat or have any remedies?

The nipple balm is a life saver. I also bought the cooling pads that you pop in the freezer and I found that really helpful.. I've not been sore since the first couple of weeks but I don't pump.
Thank you both. I was using the lansinoh balm and silver cups but have stopped the last few weeks so maybe need to go back to that x

It could be the pump, try lowering the setting. Lansinoh do a lanolin nipple balm which is a life saver as are silver nipple cups.
