How my dad “told me” my grandpa has passed away

This is how my dad “told me” that my 96yo grandpa has passed away. I have no words…who does that??? How am I supposed to be there for him now for loosing a parent when this is so disrespectful towards my feelings that I don’t want to see him ever again. I deserved more than learning it from a FB photo. I’m heartbroken, but at least now my grandpa will be with grandma in heaven and won’t be lonely anymore.

Sometimes people just suck. But trying to be a little bit of a devil's advocate, maybe he was just grieving and trying to figure stuff out?

Is this your grandfathers page or your dads and changed his picture?

@Gabrielle it’s my dad’s fb profile picture. That’s how he breaks the news to everyone…a stupid photo.

@Maridel He didn’t tell anyone. He lives alone with grandpa in the middle of nowhere. There’s no funeral or expenses except a 50$ fee for cremation which is nothing. My mom was furious about the way he announced it. In my country is tradition to make at least a poster with a photo of the person, years he lived, living relatives names he has left behind and a short story of their life and publish it in the local newspaper and mandatory put the porter in front of the house for all friends, neighbors and so on to see and say goodbye. You’re supposed to keep it there as long as you’re grieving from 40 days till forever. My other grandmas poster(mom side) is still on our front door 3 years later and my living grandpa still won’t let go but here’s my dad announcing his death and summing up his whole life in just one photo(not even of him)…guess my grandpa didn’t deserve even 1 line.
