I follow a health visitor on TikTok and from what I’ve gathered the transition to cow’s milk is only really for formula fed babies who still need milk for comfort etc I believe, since you don’t need to give formula to babies over the age of one. She said that it doesn’t really matter if your baby doesn’t take to a bottle of milk if they’re getting calcium in other ways (cheese, yoghurts, certain types of vegetables, etc). You can also add milk to certain recipes. It’s fine to stick to just breast milk and water.
I could be wrong though so take this with a grain of salt 😅
You can totally still give breast milk if you want instead of cows milk. My oldest didn’t accept cows milk until he was closer to 18months after being fully breastfed
My pediatrician mentioned adding vitamin D liquid drops to the breastmilk bc it usually does not transfer well to the breatmilk naturally. In Target the Vitamin D drops are sold in the baby section.
@Elle yes I have these! I'll continue to use them for sure!
Obviously toddler would also be getting solids but can I just continue to use my stash of frozen breast milk instead of other milk for as long as I can?
