Pain Relief

Anyone else finding the pp pain relief an absolute minefield? My daughter was born by EC-section on Monday, we were discharged yesterday, and given dihydrocodeine to take alongside paracetamol and ibuprofen. All of them have different max doses for each 24 hour period and I know paracetamol especially is one it's important to be mindful of. My partner and I have a WhatsApp group with just us so we can timestamp when I take the meds, and we have a schedule as well, but if I miss a dose because I'm sleeping then it really messes me up and I get a bit confused! Does anyone have any other ideas on how we can better stay on top of the timings? Anyone feeling the same trying to navigate it?

Yep I remember feeling so overwhelmed taking paracetamol, ibuprofen, antibiotics, lactoluse and blood thinning injections. I’d have alarms set to remind me all day 😩

After my first baby was born, I was sent home with the biggest bag of medication; paracetamol, ibruprofen, 3 lots of antibiotics, blood thinner injections and blood pressure tablets all to be taken at different times with different doses and with or without food etc - I ended up making a chart with days and times and then physically ticking off when I’d taken it to avoid getting confused what was meant to be when. Might be worth a try!

I ended up bailing on pain meds, I took dihydrocodeine only but then realised that it made me more drowsy than I liked so I then stopped taking that around day 5 pp. I just continued with my blood thinners and the odd paracetamol when I found myself aching more than the usual - sorry not really helpful x
