Percentile - weight

How does it work because I see women who have had a scan on the same date(same weeks) as me but their babies are higher on the graph?

They use a formula based on the HC, AC and FL to calculate estimated weight then use that to forecast the weight as they age.

@Chloe Oh that’s interesting, Thankyou

It’s based on YOUR booking weight & height too. The lines on your graph could start at a different point to mine because we differ in weight & height.

@Chloe whats HC, AC and FL please? :)

@Elle it's head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length

I know for me, baby is measuring on the 97th percentile but I've seen other ladies post it's the 70th or so for them. I'm very short so for my body baby is extremely big but for taller women baby would be considered smaller.

I have a 99th baby but I know for my mum it would be a lower percentile because she’s a lot taller so it’s entirely personalised

Well I learned this week through being under 2 hospitals there are different methods… on my personalised it was coming out around 80th centile, on the Hadlock formula it’s coming out 16th…

Ah okay. Makes sense as I’ve seen people on the 60th when my little one is same weight but on the 13th
