First midwife appointment

I am 9 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I had my first midwife appointment for an hour. I gave my urine sample and she took my blood samples. I am just wondering normal blood test report shows I am pregnant? Please help me if anyone knows

Not sure if I’ve understood this right but they don’t take your blood to test for pregnancy, they check for your blood group and whether you’re rhesus positive/negative and I think they check for infectious diseases and more but I’m not entirely sure what 🤭 hopefully someone else can explain a bit more on the blood test x

Yeah they test for blood group, infectious diseases etc they might see your HCG levels or is that urine not sure x

They also do the blood tests to check iron levels etc, my midwife said if I don’t hear back it means everything is fine, they only get in touch if there’s a problem ☺️

Urine test, they check for protein and glucose. X

They check blood group, infectious disease status, immunology (antibodies etc) and histology (white & red blood cells).

Urine also check for ketones to make sure you’re not dehydrated. But everything else everyone said too 🤣 it’s the urine that shows if you’re pregnant, not really the blood test x

Blood test only shows pregnancy if they request that test to be done on the blood which they normally don’t at this stage
