Feeling unwell

Is it usual to start feeling unwell on day five? I’ve had my dressing off this morning and they’ve said it looks great and I’m resting/on top of my pain relief. This afternoon I feel really run down, generally unwell and having the uterus contracting pains - feels like hunger cramps too. Just not sure why I feel so poorly all of a sudden and wondering if it’s normal x

Are you breastfeeding? If so the contraction pains are sometimes strong from feeding the baby and it could be why you feel extreme hunger or thirst. If you’re not it may be that your body just needs time to rest a bit more sometimes we as mums think we’re resting and we’re not resting enough! If you can’t think of anything or feel really bad let them know at triage

Try calling your maternity triage centre and tell them what’s going on and see if they can reassure you. I had to do that the day mine came off as within a few hours, it had come undone in one corner.Spoke to them, they asked me to come in, they did a swab and gave me some antibiotics and pain relief as within those couple of hours, it had got infected.

I was told that feeling run down can be a sign of an internal infection and to get checked at maternity triage, might be worth giving them a ring xx

I found if I didn't keep on top of my pain meds or was doing too much too soon around the house I would get pains and start feeling unwell.

I felt awful on day 6, the day after I got my bandage off. I had really bad stomach cramps was crying with the pain. I actually felt bad on and off for a couple weeks after, feeling sick and no appetite, I was on a lot of meds and antibiotics they said would be strong on my stomach so I dunno if that’s what caused it, but once I came off all the meds I started feeling better.

Took a worse turn this afternoon so came to MAC, threw up significantly and has diarrhoea since - not what I wanted on day five but getting fluids and rest. Praying I’m better soon 🙏 xxx
