Low lying placenta

Hi everyone yesterday I was diagnosed with a posterior low lying placenta, has anyone else had this before? They've told me if it doesn't move vaginal birth will not be possible and I'll need a c-section. Booked in at 34 weeks for "placenta check" , and I have growth scans too anyway so I assume they'll check it quite abit. Really terrified to be honest and it was a shock!

Yes I’m having mine checked again at 24 weeks… so let’s see. My midwife told me there’s a high chance it will move though.

Id be the same as you! How many weeks are you? Did they tell you this at the 20 week scan? Thank you x

I had that with my first. It had completely moved by the later scan which I think I had at 32 weeks. They say it does usually move as you grow so try not to worry x

I was told exactly the same at my 20 week scan. I’m really praying it moves as I really don’t want a c-section. Xx

@Georgia I'm 20 weeks and at the 20 week scan!! Xx

@Hannah oh bless you. is this your 2nd? It's my 2nd and with my 1st I had vaginal birth, so really scared the possibility of having a c section and having such a long recovery while trying to look after a toddler and baby. But whatever happens happens i guess and we'll get through it. Xx

@Natalie Thankyou for this 🥰 that's good that it moved by 32 weeks and did you have a normal vaginal birth? I know the percentage is pretty high for it to move, but I have alot of bad luck 😂 xx

@Holly that's good!! I think mine is at 28 , 32 or 34 weeks scan to check it, I'm not sure it was alot to take in and so many scans/ appointments because I'm already consultant led and need growth scans 😂 just waiting for all the letters to come through 🤣 Fingers crossed it moves for us, but at the same time I think I want to be prepared mentally just incase xx

@Lizzy Jade this is my second baby. My first was a vaginal birth so it’s the recovery I’m scared about with having another child. We will we are made of strong stuff xx

@Hannah we sure are 💪💪 xx

@Lizzy Jade - yep! No need for a C-section for me 😊 I was worried it wouldn't move and that I would be able to have a vaginal birth so I tried to convince myself that a C-section would be good because then at least I would have a set date 😂 luckily it didn't come to that though x
