How many of you have eaten clay or chalk

I posted about these cravings before and some of women mentioned pica and possibly lacking some vitamins which is why I’m craving it. I’ve booked for blood work. In the meantime I’ve been researching A LOT because the cravings just get stronger apparently it’s a thing many people (majority women) around the world eat clay and chalk as a snack soo I’m just interested to know how many women have tried clay or chalk?

15 years ago, my anemic PICA craving was baking soda of all things

@Raqi probably healthier than chalk or clay. So did those cravings stop over time once your anemia was addressed? Or do u still get them now and then.

Please don’t do it, a lot of clay has been found do be contaminated with high levels of lead

@Leah thank u! I know that’s true I read about that too! I really want to get to the bottom of these cravings. But you’re right it’s not worth the risk!

They stopped once I got my iron levels up! But I still like a lil taste of baking soda when I'm cooking haha

@Raqi ok glad to hear it. That’s what I’m hoping will be the case for me! Nothing wrong with a little pinch of baking soda 😏
