Baby Movements

Has anyone called triage for baby moving too much? Sounds so ridiculous when you say it out loud, but baby hasn’t stopped kicking or moving all morning which is just outside of his normal pattern. 🧐

i spoke to my midwife as i was worried about it but she told me it’s normal and there’s no such thing as baby moving too much but if you are worried it’s always best to call to put your mind at ease xx

I briefly thought about this, he's definitely seemingly in the last few days gotten alot more active. He's always been active but he seems to be awake alot at the moment. I'm guessing because of the space available becoming an issue I'm probably feeling him more

I would. I’ve been told too much movement can sometimes be a sign baby is in distress. Always best to call I think x

Yes with my son I did I was overdue and I was literally kept awake all day and all night cause of his movements I was going mad they were just constant🤣 they asked me to come in as it was a change in movements. I ended up being on the monitor for about an hour then needing an ultrasound and having to go for a walk cause the car ride to the hospital had sent him to sleep 😂

I had this yesterday. Googling can baby move too much! She calmed down after a while though (she was awake like 4 hours straight moving which was weird) and today she’s back to moving a ‘normal’ amount. I know she’s getting bigger and stronger now so put it down to that as it’s easier to feel even small movements now

I had a period like this but fortunately my LG movements went back to normal after a day or two. But I spoke to my midwife today and she said increase in movements could be a sign of distress so call triage if it happens again and doesn’t revert back to normal x

Thanks everyone x

Was just about to post the same thing, this evening baby is moving constantly! Ive already been in to triage twice for reduced movements so I am trying to trust that baby is probably just having an active evening but it’s a bit worrying isn’t it! Has yours settled now? Did you get checked? Xx

He hasn’t settled properly yet, still more active than usual but I’m going to give it until tomorrow just in case! I’d hate to take the spot of someone who needs it if I’m just being dramatic 😂 it’s such a fine line I’m trying not to worry too much!

Ahh bless him, hopefully he’s just excited or moved in a way you can feel more! When I went in for reduced they were lovely, it wouldn’t put me off going again if my gut instinct said to go!

I went in with my first for reduced movement and they were amazing! I think if it was reduced movements for this one I wouldn’t hesitate to go, but because it’s more movement it makes me feel a bit silly 😂

@Rachael I was told this morning any change in movement either less or more so if it’s something you have noticed I would call x

Not personally, but I’m a midwife and have seen women who’ve reported excessive/increased fetal movements and made sure all was well. Always advise people not to wait, report concerns once you’ve identified them
