Baby Movement

I'm 22 weeks with my first baby and not got movement yet. I potentially have flutters but not sure if they are in my head. I think they say to contact midwife if you've not felt movement by 24 weeks but I'm worrying. My placenta is posterior. Is anyone else the same?

I have an anterior placenta and I have only just started feeling baby, I’m almost 24 weeks!🩰 I also don’t think I felt anything previously! As it’s your first baby they do say it can take up to 24 weeks to start to feel movements!🫶🏼 However I know the anxiety, and how horrible it is!! And if you are concerned do speak to your midwife as they will be able to reassure you!!🩷

Same as Tiffany. First time mum with an anterior placenta. Didn’t feel anything until 23 weeks but even then I’d go days without feeling anything again. Couldn’t be sure if it was in my head or not. Still not completely convinced to be honest at 25 weeks now but it’s the same thing more often now so it has to be movement. I think nobody has overall concern until you don’t feel anything by 24 weeks and then after that it’s not regular kicks until around 30 weeks. Nothing like being vague to stress is all out 😂

I'm 23 weeks with posterior placenta same as you. I feel the odd flutters at various times throughout the day but no actual movements/kicks. It's also my first baby so I'm anxious too, but my midwife assures me within the next 2-3 weeks I will feel baby. Reach out to your midwife if you're concerned but I hope my experience makes you feel a bit better xx

@Vicky thank you for commenting. I feel like you think once you've done the 20 weeks scan you will be less anxious but then you just get anxious about the next milestone. Hopefully another few weeks and the kicking will start. Will speak to midwife if I get closer without anything. Xx

@Becky it is the vagueness of not knowing what to expect but I guess everyone is different. Thank you for commenting, hopefully another few weeks and I will feel movement soon x

@Tiffany thank you, it is being anxious which is hard. I'll speak to my midwife if I've not felt anything in the next couple of weeks but hopefully it starts soon xx
