I havnt had this happen but from experience if you can put baby down and let them have tummy time or independent time it could be better I. The long run just because they can get used to not being helped constantly. Obviously hold your baby and do whatever. But also knowing a child who loved to be help all the time i definitely put my second down a lot more and it’s been better In the long run
You can’t spoil a baby, and holding baby is a way to bind, they feel safe with you and it’s relaxing for them especially when they feel your heartbeat. It’s not like the baby’s gonna grow up spoilt because you held her more than he thinks you should x
Mine says she too attached too you. Like I’m her mom duh. He just mad cause she don’t wanna hug him not my fault. 🤦♀️
Show them the research. This is misinformation. Plus, your baby will grow up and not want any hugs or being carried. Enjoy it.

Everyone always told me to stop holding my baby so much. I didn't listen. Said you couldn't spoil a baby. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and struggling with this as my son is the size of a 4-year-old, and I'm physically disabled. Even adult men have a hard time carrying him. But he demands it and will freak out if I don't, and I just keep doing it even though it hurts me. With this next baby, I'm obviously still going to hold her, but try and be less, so she can be more independent. Not telling you to hold your baby less at all BTW! Just sharing my personal experience with it but everyone's situation is different.

Show him literally any research on the subject. He’s objectively wrong. You cannot hold a baby too much or spoil them.
