One and done

Anyone else think they’re going to have an only child? I would love to know people’s thoughts x

I can’t conceive naturally and have to go through IVF at 37 so yes I will be lucky to maybe have one child.

We're planning on having one only😊

Our first was a really unhappy baby and it was hard. I thought we were one and done…fast forward 3 years and we’ve just had our second. I’m drawing a line at two though 😅

I couldn't fathom going through pregnancy, birth and the newborn phase again. On the other hand, I was an only child and would prefer if mine had a sibling. I'm concerned I've left it too late though especially as the midwives recommended waiting 2 years.

I never thought I could have my son. I’m still a bit baffled as to how he is here. But I’m 38 and single and really didn’t enjoy pregnancy. That topped with endo. I am absolutely assuming I’m one and done. The only sadness I have is that me and my brother are super close and I’m sad I can’t give my boy that. I’ll get him a dog when he’s bigger and that’s as good as he will get. I was also told my uterus tore down to my cervix during my emergency section which could make carrying another dangerous if conceived too quickly.

After having my daughter, I said I was one and done. I didn’t enjoy pregnancy at ALL (I was still throwing up daily at 32 weeks), she ended up having CMPA, it really affected my mental health and I loathed the newborn stage….definitely thought one and done. Fast forward 7 years and I now have 5 children 😅

After my first I was like never again, I can't deal with another traumatic labour and the newborn phase .. now I have a 2 year old and 5 week old. It's so different this time I'm very happy I changed my mind. I love that my boys have each other too.

Our boy was IVF and we had to pay ourselves as the NHS wouldn't fund us. I would love a 2nd baby but I'm 34 and I don't think we could afford to go again any time soon so it will be 1 and done for us unless a miracle happens.
