I think it depends on personally I’d probably do young just so they’re are closer to my age. But I would have to look at all the like requirements and what not.

My nanny is 40. We interviewed several au pairs in their early 20’s and I didn’t feel they had enough experience to handle my infant daughter at the time. On the flip side we also interviewed someone who was in her mid 60’s and I didn’t feel she could keep up with a crawling baby. Ultimately we decided on our nanny because she was great with our kid, she had plenty of experience, was cpr certified and has a great personality all around.

I wouldn't go off age, but off the person themselves. I hated being looked at like i couldn't do a job because of my age, but I was the fourth kid and that made me grow up faster and I have a more mature personality. So go more off how they act in the interview and experience.

I thought I wanted an old nanny. But my kids are med complex and I’ve seen older generations believe less in modern medicine so I chose a young nanny and I love her. She also has become a friend!

My nanny is in her 60s and trust me she is amazing!! Certain millennials things that you dont have to worry about. But definitely agree is all about actions and how they are. Older nannies are just so nurturing to me which brings me a peace of mind

We are now looking into Nannies for next year, and we are open to any age, as long as they have experience, and preferably bring skills like teaching or speaking Spanish :)

I would say younger. They are more willing to learn and follow the things you want them to do vs someone who is old and stuck in their way

We had a nanny that had just turned 24. She use to be an Au pair for a few years. We ended up have major issues with how much she used her phone. It was bad and became a major liability. Had numerous conversations and the issue was not resolved, we switched to someone who is a mom and 35. Still young but a different generation that is not as addicted and has experience raising her own children.
