We had a referral to a dietitian but it was a bit pointless as it was so late for us. The other parents had babies who were younger than 12 months and more around 6 months, whereas my little girl is 2 next month! The appointment was a group presentation about weaning, what to use, and good substitutes and then when and how to introduce the milk ladder. I have a follow up appointment in 6 months with the consultant. So, if your little one is only 3 months I’d definitely push for the dietitian referral. You’ve already had the diagnosis confirmed, there’s no other tests that are ‘accurate’ and aren’t recommended unless it’s an IGE reaction.
I got referred through my health visitor 😊
Why is it your wanting a dietician referal? They really don't do/tell you anything you couldn't easily learn from this group. A paediatrician would be good as they can run allergy tests if needed and such. A dietician will tell you to give them a fortified milk (preferably oat or soya) when cooking and switch to it once one year old (if not still bf) ensure they have a multivitamin and trial the milk ladder once they're around 12 months old, if failed re-try after 3/6 months (depending on trust). I'm not being pessimistic, I just see so many mums waiting for a dietician and being disappointed. X
