How do you get your LO to stay still for a diaper change?

I used to give my girls their stuffies that they used as comfort items. They focused on those instead ☺️

I point at pictures above his changing table to distract him.. or give him things he's "not supposed to" play with aka his hair brush, booger picker, etc

I had him anything (safe items) within reach hahaha. Wipes, toys, stuffies, other diapers, diaper cream. If he tosses one and gets ready to roll away I hand him a new object hahaha.

I have a basket of small toys next to the changing pad for times like this. and these toys are only for use during diaper changes so he doesn’t get bored of them too quickly.

I either distract with a toy if 💩 or change standing up as we use pull ups.

I give my grandson a packet of wipes or a bib for him to play with. Keeps him still and occupied so he doesn’t realise his bums out

My 9mo old just hit this stage and tries to sit up while changing. I give her any toy or book that's around, or hand her a diaper or a wipe to play with.

Good question lately my LO been tryna get up and I just follow and do my best 🫣I realized tryna keep putting LO back down takes more time and helps get even more restless plus risk of a potty incident happening is higher I had enough dodging pea in the beginning not going back to that 😂 good luck

@Catherine yea a clean wipe works for a little for my LO too do u ever use the straps that come on the diaper changer I haven’t but I wondered if that is something people do that helps ?

I've given her EVERYTHING! even stuff she shouldn't have in desperation! I've tried wipes, diaper cream, toys, her brothers toys, cat toys!!! Nothing will tame this baby octopus! 🫠
