Advice

So I have the sensation and feeling that I need have a wee but I can't actually wee, is this normal? Could it just be baby sat on my bladder ? I do have pains in the whole of my back, a friend told me kidney infection but AVE had them in the past an this feels nothing like that, plus I had my midwife appointment the other day an dip test was normal. I am 37 weeks 3days

I get this but my baby is an absolute bladder hugger and my pelvic floor is dead because I’ve done no exercises yet but that bits my fault

@Bex tbh it could be my own fault also coz I havnt done any pelvic floor exercises I just thought they were for after baby was born 😂, that could explain why aswell when I cough or sneeze I almost wet myself every time 🙈

I’d ask your doctors if they could do a UTI test just incase! I had a UTI while pregnant but felt no symptoms apart from the pressure to wee! Otherwise yeah, I’d start getting some pelvic floor exercises done ☺️

You can get UTI dip strips from Boots or even Sainsbury’s - I thought I had one but just turned out to be the baby pushing on my bladder and nerves 😂

Definitely sounds like a kidney infection, go to maternity triage. These tests can be false negatives before there's enough of the bacteria in there.

Have they told you position of baby? I have same issues - feeling need to pee all the time but not going, bad lower back pain and into my hips. Turns out baby is low and back to back which is what causes this! As soon as midwife found her position she asked if I’d had issues with my back etc! So could just be position of baby

I’ve had this for ages , it’s definitely not a UTI or infection. Think just baby compressing passageways. I can usually get the wee out if lean back more on the toilet and / or concentrate really hard lol

Thanks for all the advice, I don't actually think it's any kind of infection as the paint and feeling for needing a wee went after a couple of hours. I think it's just how baby is sitting & positioned 🙈. But thank you for all advice ☺️
