Scooter - what age?

When is the earliest you’d get a scooter? I think it’s 2+? My girl is obsessed with them when she sees older kids with one and there was one in a charity shop she was desperate to ride. She’s been confidently walking for a while. Are there are versions that are for 18 months? Might consider for Christmas.

I’m honestly of the opinion that if your child has the will they can learn to do so much. There’s no harm in buying a cheap one, or one from a charity shop and work with her to see if she can figure it out. I’ve seen videos of 15 month olds snowboarding.

I've not got my youngest one yet but he's been using his big brother's for a while now. He stands on with 2 feet and wiggles to make it move😂 been doing it since he was around 12mo but he was taking steps at 10mo I think my eldest was 2.5yrs when he got his it's one with 2 wheels at the front x

Someone bought us a Scuttlebug as a present which my 16 mo is just getting the hang of sitting on and pushing along.

We got the microscooter for my oldest which starts as a trike that they sit on and you push then you remove the seat and it become a normal scooter, you get 2 handlebars with it so it grows with them xx

My LO has a scooter and a trike. We push him round on the scooter - he loves it and he’s amazing on his trike now - moves himself along rapidly and goes down hills etc very happily. Our rule is no helmet, no bikey/scooter and my husband uses the trike handle when he’s on the hills. We figured he will learn what we expose him to and we just make sure we have appropriate limits with it
