Bristol Mums, please can you share how much you pay for consumables & food with your childcare provider?

If you can share the nursery name too that would be helpful but don’t worry if you prefer not to! Just doing some research as the nursery my little one goes to, charges about £38 a day for consumables and food on funded days so we aren’t really saving much with government help which is a shame! Thanks so much! X

We pay around 50 something a day. He's 4 so is in the pre-school class and as he's older it's more expensive. This is because it also covers extra curricular activities AND wrap around fees as the hours are between the hours of 9-3 and he attends opening between 7:45 and 5:45. Local authority was a lot cheaper on any consumables. Probably negligible but had no extra opportunities and only opened 9-3 which is pointless because who works between 10 and 2 🤦🏻‍♀️ They do Forest School on a Monday (external teacher who leads Forest School as a whole for Bristol I believe) Tuesday - Yoga Thursday- French Friday - Future Stars sports (rotating sports they have a go at). Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks throughout the day. We are in Charlton in Flax. It is pricey, however, we recently went to see one in Nailsea that charged less because they stretch the hours further meaning we'd probably pay full for half terms and had no extra curricular.... It was also bloody filthy and run down.

*continued*. This nursery was so bad (we were looking for new baby) but so highly talked about in the area that I burst into tears at Charlton picking up my step son and begged them whether they still had baby spaces there. It's bright, it's clean, it's very well maintained. The difference was night and day and I have learnt that you get what you pay for unfortunately. The nursery we went to see in Nailsea is very highly regarded too so it came as a HUGE shock.

£1.25 per funded hour and £9 for breakfast, lunch and tea♥️

But can opt out of both by bringing nappies, wipes, suncream, snacks and packed lunch!
