Hi all, I'm 35 weeks pregnant witj my first baby and I dont think im having any braxton hicks contractions. Is that OK? Could I be having them and not noticing them? What do they feel like?

Totally normal and okay I never had them with my first and went into labour spontaneously. Apparently not everyone experiences it

I’m the same! 35 weeks and haven’t really felt anything? Although yesterday I felt really mild mild period like cramps

Totally normally not everyone gets them. I only for them like a week before giving birth to my first and even then it was very light feeling. With my second now I’m feeling them a bit earlier but I still have 3 weeks to go before I’m due

Had to jump on as soon as I saw this as I didn’t think I was having them until I went to hospital for a check and they happened infront of the midwife. It’s like your whole uterus goes hard and a little bit of a weird shape. What I thought was happening was that baby was just sticking his bum out and was in a weird position. What the midwife told me was, feel your stomach where the baby is, feel how it’s a little floppy in parts, then when you get that weird feeling of “oo is he in a weird position” then feel it all then and you can feel it be all hard. That’s Braxton hicks. It also might be different for everyone and it also doesn’t happen with everyone. I didn’t get it with my first so I think it could be that you just aren’t getting them. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, it’s just whatever your body decides to do I guess. Mine might be doing it coz it’s my second and maybe my uterus remembers what to do so it’s practicing?

I haven't had them with any of my pregnancies so don't panic. Not everyone has them.
