How do you cut off your own family because they are toxic. All I have ever wanted is peace in my life and im stopping at nothing to make that happen. Like literally I have mental health issues and no one in my family understands it and is scared of it so I am being accused of being a drug addict. Like are we kidding here? I wish I was. But they can all go. Sooner rather than later. I assume it will be hard but what is my alternative?!

I just literally stopped talking with them left them on read. You can block if you want to. I didn't but they still don't message or call.

I had to block my family, one of them I had to avoid giving anyone who talked to them my new address. It is hard at first and sometimes there's retaliation but it's worth it in the end, for mental health and sometimes for the mental health and safety of your family.

It's only 1 member of my family & her husband (unfortunately their kids are collateral) but we just stopped talking to them. No arguing, no defending, no explaining.... just silence. My life has never been more at peace.

I blocked/deleted them and anyone they tried to get to contact me, no explanation nothing. It’s overwhelming to begin with, at times you feel guilty and like you should check in (it’s important to remain clear headed and think about your mental health first and foremost and then the reasons you went N/C to begin with - at least I found this helpful in these times). It can be hard but I can say it does get easier/better and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself and my future. I went NC with my parents mid 21 (I hadn’t had kids at that point) and haven’t spoken to them since. They don’t know I have kids and will never know/meet them. Stay strong for yourself, you got this! ❤️
