Gender confusion. Ultrasound advice…

Hi all, At about 15 weeks I had an ultrasound with the NHS who revealed we were having a baby boy and showed us his little parts on the ultrasound. Fast forward to our 20 week scan and we’ve now been told it’s a girl. I’m keen to pay for a private ultrasound as I’m not sure who to trust now, but conscious I’ve had about 5 ultrasound so far (as I experienced bleeding early on). Is it dangerous getting too many? Has anyone else experienced this?

It's not dangerous, I had around 20 scans with my second baby

I think the general recommendation (by the NHS) is that scans are 2 weeks apart (unless of course you have to have the scan), so I wouldn't worry ❤️

Not for this reason but I've been scanned regularly in pregnancy, currently on 2 weekly growth scans. Whenever you book a private one they do like there to have been 2 weeks since the last one though.

The most accurate way to know the gender is through a blood test. I had a private NIPT test done and they also checked gender. Could you maybe do a blood test instead? If knowing the gender is your main goal 😊

Thank you all! Ahh, yeah a NIPT blood test could be a good route to go. Then there’s definitely no doubt!

Oh no, i was told mine was a boy at 16 weeks and I'm scared to very told a different gender at my 20 week scan 🫠🫠🫠

Oh no! Hopefully not - I feel like it’s quite rare to be told incorrectly 🤞🏻

I would go with the 20 week scan as it's more likely to be correct. But it's not dangerous to have many ultrasounds

No scanning is safe for the baby 🥰
