How do you do this?!

I BFed my first for a little over 2 years, and just had my second two weeks ago. My husband is about to go back to work, and I don’t know how I’m going to nurse my newborn around the clock while chasing after my 2.5 year old! Nursing moms with toddlers- how do you do it?!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Just gotta try it and see how it goes! Sometime end up balancing baby on boob while helping toddler do something but most of time she’s happy to entertain herself around me xx

Highly recommend getting a wrap sling. I have figured out a way to feed in that whole chasing my 2 year old 😂 also, we have got some sit-down activities for us to do together while I feed baby (Lego, play-doh, sticker books etc) xx

I’m guilty of giving my toddler screen time so I could nurse and now I regret it. Toddler is going back to nursery part time this week for this reason.

I combination feed and find that helps.

@Dal also guilty! I did this when I was super tired during pregnancy and regret it because now she’s hooked 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@Stephanie this is a great idea! Just need to work on getting her to take a bottle!

@Lauren yes!! I got the solly baby wrap! Just need to practice.. Do you use it to feed while out and about??

@Lauren totally agree, just gotta do it! Haha just a little nervous.. 😬

@Amanda yep, there's defo a knack to it but practice at home first xx

I feed majority of the time but use formula maybe once or twice a day or expressed breastmilk in a bottle

I made buckets of special toys that my toddler only got access to while I was breastfeeding.

You make a nursing basket for you 2.5year old. You put all kinds of things in there that would interest him/her and that are not usually around. Whenever you sit down to nurse tell your LO to get the special basket. And if all hell brakes loose, put the TV on. When I was in your position I bought myself an Alexa cube which is voice controlled so that I didn’t have to get up for the remote control. I always tried everything first and only resorted to TV if nothing else helped. You could also put out an activity next to you (sensory bins etc; Lego Duplo.. whatever your little one is interested in) to keep him/her occupied.
