Nursery

Anyone who’s baby goes to nursery 2 days a week (20 hours) and use 15 hours free and tax free childcare. How much do you pay a month? Trying to work out if my nursery is over charging. Thanks. ☺️

Mine does three days so can’t really compare but usually (unless you’re on a term time only place - ie. Your child doesn’t go to nursery during any of the half term holidays) then the 15 hours is spread across the year (exc August) so actually works out more like 12.5 hours a week. Which is annoying because it isn’t even a day and a half for most nurseries that offer a 10 hour day (and you pay for 10 hours whether you use every hour or not) Honestly though if you think they’re overcharging ask for a breakdown of your bill. No reputable nursery would refuse to help you understand what they’re charging you xx

It varies so much between areas, to be honest, you’d be better off asking in a local group

Mine is stretched over the full year and it’s £315 a month but like others have said above it all depends on what the nursery daily rate is and things like that as every nursery will charge a different amount xx

Ours is about £300ish a month for those hours x

Mine does the same amount of hours stretched over the year and is £310 a month with tax free childcare and the 15 hours

Ours is £540 a month with 2 days and using the funding etc x

Ours is invoiced at £160 a month for 2 days, 20 hours a week using the funding. Works out a little less with the tax free childcare as well x

Mine is £607 a month for 2 days! X

After 15 hours and tax free about £270 a month

My little one does 2 days - 18 hours a week, we have the funded hours stretched over the full year (11 hours a week) and we pay £200-£250 depending on the sessions per month. This includes tax free childcare
