Second car seat

We’re after a second car seat for use once in a blue mood for grandparents. My daughter is almost 2 and 13kg. Would the joie stages one be suitable? I don’t want to ask in the Facebook groups as they’re so arsey 🙃 we have a 36kg rear facing one in our car x

The joie stages is recommended on the car seat safety pages alot and it's the one we're thinking of getting for a back up seat. The only thing I'd be weary of is whether you trust whoever is using it to keep them rear facing as it can be used both ways. Think it's only rear facing until 18kg x

Thank you. Absolutely trust them to do rear facing luckily! The seat would do them for other grandchildren too but literally twice a year maybe so don’t want them to fork out too much x

We have the joie stages in our 2nd car as it's used much much less and it's great! Xx

We’ve got the joie R129 stages I think it’s called which works fine. Only annoying thing for me is the green clip at the back can be difficult to undo but if it’s only a couple times a year it’ll be fine. You probably are aware but just be careful who you get it from as second hand car seats aren’t recommended unless you know and trust the person you’re getting it from. As unbelievably, some people actually lie about whether the seat has been in an accident and it’s recommended to replace after any accident

Thank you, they got the joie stages for her & it was a new one so I don’t need to worry about the second hand issues ☺️ I know when she hits 18kg we’ll need to look at something else to keep her rear facing but I’m happy for now & they’ve not had to spend a fortune on it so it works for everyone x

@Holly oh my god, I’m So sorry. I read that as second hand car seat not second car seat. You must be wondering what an earth I’m On about 😂 Can I still blame baby brain 🙈

@Alexandria absolutely with the baby brain 🤣🫣I’ve never been the same!
